Access Assign Panel

On the Edit, Preview, or View Responses page:

Click on the green Assign button in the top-right corner of your screen. 

assign To Public

Select "Public"

Under the "Who?" section, select "Public". If you select additional groups/classes, the settings you pick will apply to those groups/classes as well.

 

Settings For public

Select from the following options under "Settings". 

  • "Allow students to edit responses after submitting"
    • Defaulted to off
    • Leaving off will only allow students to submit one time and then will lock down the assignment from future editing.
    • Turning on will allow students to submit responses multiple times.
  • "Return Scores"
    • "When session ends" = Scores will return to the student when the session is over for all students in the group
    • "When student presses submit" = Scores will return to the student immediately after pressing the submit button
    • "Later (manually)" = Scores will return to the student when you as a teacher select this option.
  • "Return Correct Answers"
    • "When session ends" = Correct Answers will return to the student when the session is over for all students in the group
    • "When student presses submit" = Correct Answers will return to the student immediately after pressing the submit button
    •  "Later (manually)" = COMING SOON

If your student does not have an account, leaves the site, and tries to re-access the formative, they'll be recognized as a new user. If you plan on using Formative consistently with your students and want greater control over what they have access to, we recommend you create classes and add your students.

 
 

Steps To join

  • Quick Code
    • Students can input the Quick Code at goformative.com/join
  • Link
    • Provides a direct link to the assignment that you can give to students or paste into your LMS
  • Embed
    • Provides an html embed code that you can paste into other sites that support this functionality. Students can take the formative from that site, but you must return to Formative to view and act on the responses. 

 

Assign To classes

Select Classes

Under the "Who?" section, select the two number/letter code that you have designated for the class you wish to assign to.  If you select additional groups/classes, the settings you pick will apply to those groups/classes as well.

Edit Prior Sessions

Toward the top of the Assign panel are your previous sessions.

Select the session you want to edit, update the settings below, and hit Go! to set it live again!
